Hi, my name is Danny Ferry. I grew up immersed in the Long Island music scene. Precisely where the most iconic emo, punk, and hardcore bands come from. I started my first pop punk band in 6th grade, we were playing college bars and had a catchy ass EP during middle school. I moved to central Florida halfway through high school and it was very different than Long Island, I felt like I lost my culture. After graduation, I found an audio engineering program in Daytona Beach that somewhat reconnected me with my identity. I spent 2010-2024 learning and practicing music production as much as possible, but never managed to find compatible musicians to be in a serious band with. To keep my inspiration going, I'd constantly go to shows in Orlando to see/support my favorite artists, usually alone. After many long years of having my biggest talents and passions hidden away from the world, certain life events lead me to discontinue the circle of self-doubt, and to finally give things the chance they deserve. Now, as Holding Back, I'm thrilled to independently add onto the next generation of the genre, scene, and community. Stay tuned and stay gold...
